The Buffalo Bills have added depth to their secondary by signing Xavier Rhodes to the practice squad, a source has confirmed.

Rhodes appeared to confirm the news with a tweet on Tuesday night.

Rhodes, 32, most recently played for the Indianapolis Colts from 2020-21, starting 29 games over two seasons. He spent the first seven years of his career with the Minnesota Vikings. 

As many as five teams have expressed interest in signing Ndamukong Suh, who reportedly wants to play for a contender this season.

Suh spent the last three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Jason Pierre-Paul has agreed to a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens, according to a source.

The Ravens are down to two outside linebackers (Odafe Oweh and Justin Houston) on their 53-man roster due to injuries.

Pierre-Paul visited the Ravens in June, but he left without a deal.

Ahead of this weekend's matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Aaron Rodgers has reiterated that he won't play quite as long as Tom Brady.

Brady is 45 and Rodgers said this offseason that he won't be playing until he's that old.

Rodgers noted that you try to stay as long as you can "when you've achieved at a high level for a long time," but said he still thinks he'll be on to something else before he reaches his 45th birthday.

"I won't be, I'll be doing something else," Rodgers said. "I have a lot of other interests outside the game. Game's been really, really good to me. I feel I've given my all to the game. At some point, it'll be time to do something else, and I strongly believe that'll be before 45."

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will sign Cole Beasley to their practice squad, according to a source.

Beasley was released by the Buffalo Bills this past March and did not sign with another team as a free agent this past offseason.

The Buccaneers plan to elevate Beasley to the active roster soon.

Tampa Bay is dealing with injuries at wide receiver (Chris Godwin and Julio Jones) and Mike Evans has been suspended for one game.

Lamar Jackson is finished talking about his contract situation, declining to answer three questions Wednesday that were related to his stalled negotiations with the Baltimore Ravens.

"Respectfully, I'm done talking about it," Jackson said. "I told you guys before, I was going to be done with it Week 1. Week 1 is over with. We're done talking about it. I'm focused on the [Miami] Dolphins now."

It was reported over the weekend that Jackson turned down a five-year extension offer from the Ravens worth more than $250 million with $133 million guaranteed at signing.

The team balked at Jackson's desire for a fully-guaranteed deal such as the one Deshaun Watson received from the Cleveland Browns.

The Los Angeles Rams lurked as a potential destination if the San Francisco 49ers had cut Jimmy Garoppolo this offseason, according to league sources.

Garoppolo remained with the Niners after the two sides agreed to a restructured contract.

The quarterback had the makings of a deal with the Rams in place had he been released.

The Niners didn't learn about the Rams' interest until after they agreed with Garoppolo on a one-year deal worth up to $16 million, sources said.

"It was going to be such a Rams move to make," a member of the 49ers organization told ESPN. "Sean McVay and Kevin Demoff would have been basking in it."

Tight end Darren Waller and the Las Vegas Raiders have reached agreement on a three-year contract extension with $51 million in new money.

"This was one of the most challenging negotiations I've encountered," said Waller's agent Drew Rosenhaus. "It is very rare for a 30-year-old player with two years left on his contract to get a new deal."

When asked about whether 2022 will be his final season, Tom Brady left all options on the table.

"I think we're all getting one day older at a time, so, you know, we're all not sure whether we're gonna be here next year or not," Brady said. "That's the reality for every player, every coach, every parent. You just never know. So we should all take advantage of the opportunity that we have, which is the one we have in front of us now."

Brady, 45, is coming off an offseason in which he retired only to return to play 40 days later. He also took an unexplained 11-day break from camp with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in August.

The New Orleans Saints have reached an agreement on a five-year contract extension with center Erik McCoy, according to a source.

The extension includes $63.75 million in new money with $40 million guaranteed. The average of $12.75 million per year would make him one of the highest-paid centers in the league.

McCoy, 25, was entering the final season of the rookie deal he signed as a second-round pick in 2019.
